The Shell's Odyssey
“Like
seashells, we are beautiful and unique, each with a story to tell.”
I love the beach and the sea. The lashing waves, the cool breeze, the
way the sea swallows the burning sun at dusk and gives way to a beautiful
sunrise at dawn.
While walking on the beach alongside the exuberant sea, I looked at my
footprints on the sand and multitude of seashells of all kinds scattered all
over the shore. Of all sizes and different shapes, some were whole, some were
chipped, lying silently on the ground.
I picked up a shell and thought to myself, “Every shell has a story”.
Nobody knows where it began, nobody knows how it ended, but every shell
has a story. Each shell has had its own journey facing numerous storms, being
lashed off the shore by thousands of waves, lying silently on the sand, having
gone through its own transitions that nobody knows.
Then I looked around. Flocks of people with diverse expressions, some
were smiling, some were depressed, some were wearing a mask of smile to hide
the pain beneath. All different, still the same.
Just like seashells, each of us holds a story that nobody knows. A story
with its own unique beginning, a journey that transformed us in various ways,
shaping us into what we are today, leaving some of us still unbroken while some
of us chipped and broken in their own perfect ways.
The world around us only sees what the shell looks like. Ever wondered
what’s there inside? Ever tried to listen to the stories of people and their odyssey
of life? Try it. Be kind to people. Don’t try to break their shells. Let them
hatch out of their shells.
What happens when a shell cracks?
It gives birth to a new life. When an egg hatches, a chicken is born.
When a cocoon breaks, a butterfly is born. It no longer crawls. It flies.
What goes on inside the shell we must know, because that’s what has
caused the transformation. Our stories tell our journey that transformed us
into who we are today. Doesn’t matter if the story is incomplete, doesn’t
matter if it is painful or adventurous, our learning, our experiences and our
journey will surely show someone lost the correct path to solve the maze of
life.
So, what’s your story? Do you have
a story to tell?
I picked up a shell and thought to myself, “Every shell has a story”.

Pen down your story in the comments and let the world know your odyssey. :)
